Preterm Baby Care

Preterm is simply defined as babies born before 37 weeks of pregnancy are completed. Preterm births could come with a lot of complications, thus, needing specialized care. Some of the complications associated with preterm births include; immature lungs, difficulty regulating body temperature, poor feeding, slow weight gain, amongst other challenges. We hope to ease the pains and turn it to joyful experience for such parents.

Donation of Medical Equipment

Our Foundation is committed to ensuring that lack of equipment and medical supplies does not continue to increase the mortality rate of pre-term babies as well as its consequences on pre-term mother’s mental health. Therefore, we seek to provide medical equipment and supplies to health facilities in high need of such, to support preterm births in neonatal period.

Financial Support to the Indigent

Alot of pregnant women and their babies in rural communities are held up in the furnace of inadequate financial resources to meet their daily needs including basic healthcare, while some may become suicidal if left unattended for a long time. We come in handy to rebuild their resilience, lift their hands, and offer hopes of a better tomorrow.

Teenage pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy in Nigeria can have devastating consequences, both for the individuals involved and for society as a whole.
1.Social Stigma and Discrimination
- Teenage pregnancy often carries a social stigma in Nigerian society, leading to discrimination against young mothers and their children. This can result in marginalization, reduced educational and employment opportunities, and increased vulnerability to poverty.
2. Health Risks
- Teenage mothers face higher risks of pregnancy-related complications, including maternal mortality, due to their bodies not being fully developed for childbirth. Additionally, babies born to teenage mothers are more likely to experience health problems and developmental delays.
3. Education Disruption
- Teenage pregnancy frequently leads to school dropout among young girls, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and limiting their future prospects. The interruption of education reduces their chances of obtaining stable employment and achieving economic independence.
4. Cycle of Poverty
- Teenage pregnancy contributes to the perpetuation of poverty, as young mothers often lack the resources and support needed to provide for themselves and their children. This can lead to a cycle of poverty that persists across generations

To support a project addressing teenage pregnancy in Nigeria:
- Comprehensive Sex Education: Implementing comprehensive sex education programs in schools and communities to empower young people with accurate information about reproductive health, contraception, and responsible decision-making.
- Access to Reproductive Health Services: Increasing access to affordable and youth-friendly reproductive health services, including contraceptives, prenatal care, and maternal health services, to prevent unintended pregnancies and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
- Empowerment and Support: Providing support services and resources for teenage mothers, including access to education, vocational training, healthcare, and psychosocial support, to help them overcome the challenges associated with teenage pregnancy and build a better future for themselves and their children.
We intend to support projects that address these key areas, we hope to contribute in reducing the prevalence and impact of teenage pregnancy in Nigeria, improving the lives of young people, and promoting sustainable development in the country.

Empowering Mothers, Transforming Futures

image

Motherhood is a unique journey beautiful, life-changing, and often overwhelming. For *teen mothers, that journey comes with added layers of emotional, social, and psychological challenges. Studies show that **1 in 5 women experience postpartum depression (PPD)*, and teenage mothers are at an even higher risk due to limited support systems, stigma, and unplanned pregnancies.

But it doesn’t have to be a lonely road.

At Keyu-Seobase Foundation we recognize the silent battles many mothers face. That's why we’ve made *maternal mental health* a cornerstone of our mission.

The Reality:

- 75% of women with PPD go undiagnosed and untreated.

- Teenage mothers are *twice as likely* to experience postpartum depression compared to adult mothers.

- Maternal mental health complications are among the **leading causes of pregnancy-related deaths

Our Impact:

We’ve helped over *150 mothers and teen moms* find access to counseling, therapy, and support groups within their local communities. Through advocacy, direct intervention, and awareness campaigns, we’ve empowered mothers to seek help, speak up, and heal.

Our Approach:
- Early intervention during pregnancy and postpartum stages.
- Safe, stigma-free spaces for mothers to share and receive support.
- Peer-led support groups, where mothers connect, encourage, and grow together.
- Partnerships with mental health professionals to offer therapy and crisis care.
- Educational outreach to schools, clinics, and communities to raise

Our Vision for the Future:
We aim to build a resilient network of support** for teen and expectant mothers especially in underserved communities. Through workshops, mobile outreach, and digital resources, we hope to *reduce maternal mental health stigma* and ensure *no mother suffers in silence*.
Because when a mother is supported, *a generation is strengthened.*
